Aloha from hot hot Czech - before I bring you all up to date on the first VHT Instructor Clinic I would like to share a piece of trivia with you - I recently splurged out on a new gimmick an IPad! As a prolific reader I am constantly weighed down at airports with books and this has solved the problem - I simply walk into a store - see a book I wish to read - download it into my library and it is mine forever simple and costs far less. In my illness I decided to start reading some classics - they download, free of charge - and so opened and started to read "The Three Musketeers". On virtually the first page this paragraph caught my fancy, let me share it with you. 'My son, this horse was born in the house of your father about 13 years ago, and has remained in it ever since, which ought to make you love it. Never sell it; allow it to die tranquilly and honorably of old age, take as much care of it as you would an old servant' Alexander Dumas, 1850 True to human behavior, D'Artangan sold it the minute he reached Paris! |

THE FIRST VHT INSTRUCTOR CLINIC |
Firstly I have to thank Ivana - who was so amazing in taking over the preparations of this clinic due to my ill health. Czech is not a country that is designed for easy access to outsiders and with no help hardly at all from me she did magnificently, hunting down the arriving and misplaced students like an alpha mare. Then Jo Fernandes who has been with me for 13 years took the weight on her shoulders not only my well-being, but by preparing the most professional Instructor manuals possible - and so with Suz Kurten and Lyn Palmer making up the four 'Jock's Musketeers' we were ready to go. |

NEW VHT LOGO AND TRADEMARK |
At the same time as launching our new VHT Team we would also like to welcome you to the birth of our new copyright trademark for VHT worldwide. The Scottish Thistle - identifiable as a healing plant in Scotland where VHT was originally developed as a bodywork modality way back in 1997. With the focus of VHT now being the human on their own as well as for Equine Touch students and practitioners it was decided that we would remove the twin horses from the logo as many of the VHT students are not from our side of the tracks - so to speak. The Logo has a nice feel about it - and if you have some imagination one can in fact visualize the hands holding the ball and the energy flowing out the top. Yes - the skinny guy on the end is me! |

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS |
Q: I recently attended a L and P Clinic, and together we, the whole class, worked on a horse with pain in the croup. We did everything we could think of, the pain remained. Then you got up walked over and leaned against the horse, scratched its butt and a few moments later the pain vanished. A: Perhaps the reason was that you all had already done everything else and that was all there was left for me to do, or perhaps it was you were so busy thinking and worrying about what procedures you should be using in front of me, you actually forgot about the horse and its pain. If you had gone into your neutral place, calmed down, stopped trying to think about what amazing procedures you had learned and thought only about the horse, then maybe, just maybe you would have been able to listen to your inner voice, just as I did. Have confidence in yourself and keep it simple! Confusion breeds confusion! |
